Picture Fun

Jack was outside with his swim suit and ended up with 12 mosquito bits on his back. Not fun!
I just thought that this picture was cute. Samuel thinks he is such a cool dude.

First Day at the beach

Jack's sand beard.

After a long long long winter the kids were so excited to spend their first day at the beach. We packed a picnic and met some friends at the lake. It was a great day.

It's a Boy!

We had a surprise ultrasound last Tuesday and found out that we are having a boy. We were all hoping for a girl but he looked health and after the intial shock we are excited. Samuel will love having his own little buddy. Gracie should have just as much fun pampering a brother as she would a little sister.

Bats, Bats everywhere.

Samuel searching for bats.

So this is a long and crazy story so I thought it needed a cute picture. It all began a few summers ago when we got a few bats in our bedroom. I let the landlord know and came a did something that took care of that prblem but in the summer in the evening we could still hear bats up in the ceiling making squeaking noises. I pretty much put up with it thinking that there was nothing I could do about it. On Friday night Rodney made a comment about the bats probably coming through the holes in the gable end. "What holes" I say if there were hole why had we not filled them up so that the bats could not get in? So I gentle threaten Rodney to get it done immediatly. So on Saturday morning Rodney got up a filled the holes. I was happy. Problem solved. Well Saturday night at about 11:30 pm Rodney and I are sitting in the family watching a movie when 2 bats come swooping throught the room. Why is it we have to learn things the hard way. In plugging the holes we just trapped the bats in the ceiling and they had to find a way out right into our bedroom. So in the middle of the night Rodney and Troy went bat hunting and killed 8 bats. We went to bed praying that there weren't any more. We should have know better. In the end they end they killed 14 bats. I couldn't sleep in my room for a few nights for fear bats would fall off the ceiling onto me. Luckily I think the problem has pasted. Knock on Wood. Does anyone want to come and visit. We will let you sleep in our room, The Bat Suite.

Buddies

Gracie and Samuel are becoming good buddies. I thought that this was so cute that Gracie was reading to Samuel.

AHHHHH!

On June 11, we woke up to snow. I was in serious need of chocolate.

Wild Flowers

On June 7th we had a lot of things to do and spent the whole day running around from one place to another but we couldn't help stop and pick some wild flowers between destinations.
Samuel had a blast.
Jack started a beautiful bouquet for me.

Gracie's Ballet Recital

After taking ballet since September Gracie had a program for parents to come and see what she had learned. She was so cute and had learned a lot.
Gracie's cousins gave her a ballet bunny for good luck.

Log Work

This is what Rodney has been up to lately, learning to do fancy twig railing.

Huckaby Lumberjacks

Four Trees standing right in the middle of our lots. The tall tree on the left if left standing would be right in the middle of my future family. That is if we can ever get a loan. So they had to come down. Rodney and Troy don't have a lot of experience cutting down trees and so we were a little worried for the neighbors homes.
They decided to practise on a small tree first. There is an art to making the tree fall were you want it to. After succeeding with the small tree we felt better about cutting down the bigger one. TIMBER!
The stake on the right was the goal where they wanted the tree to land. Not to bad for first timers.
